This interesting project involved developing a management system for Mobile Video Systems's digital taxi cameras.
The Taxi Cam Management System
This management system maintains customer and licence information for all issued taxi cams. GPS (satellite) technology is used to acquire geolocation information. Radio (GPRS) is used to communicate between the cams and servers.
E-mail templates, newsletters and reports were also created and implemented.
Implementation
We chose to develop this system using Joomla CMS and the VirtueMart component as it is easily customisable and Open Source. All details are stored in a MySQL database.
We continue to support Mobile Video Systems.
Tasks Involved
Import of legacy customer and licence information.
Development of a REST API interface for communication between the taxi cams and the servers.
